About us

About the Founders

Our founders, Rich Taylor and Chris Kostyun bonded over a love of good times and good beer.  They saw an opportunity to bring a viable eco-industry to their corner of upstate New York farm country and decided to seize it.  Chris is a local boy born and raised in Middle Granville in the Slate Valley that runs along the New York/Vermont border.  Rich is a transplant hailing from the Helderberg mountains just south of Albany, NY.

Both Rich and Chris are committed to keeping Land Craft Wellness fresh and local.  What they don’t grow themselves, they source exclusively from small, local NY farmers they know and trust.  Processing is done nearby, and every order is packed and shipped with love from the tiny town of Hebron, NY.

Rich, a serial entrepreneur, moved his family to Washington County NY in 2014, began farming hops and eventually built a nano-brewery to bring farm-fresh ales to the surrounding countryside.  Word spread and soon his brewery, R.S. Taylor & Sons, located on his 50 acre farm and homestead, began drawing wide praise and customers from near and far.  Rich, an entrepreneur his entire adult life, suffers from all the aches and pains and difficulty sleeping that comes with a lifetime of running small businesses.  Brewing, particularly on the small scale, is a hard, physical endeavor, and finding immediate pain relief with full-spectrum hemp oil made Rich a true believer in the power of the cannabis plant.

Chris built his career as a paramedic and well-respected emergency services professional in the Capital District of NY.  Chris has a deep affection for this area  and remains true to his roots by keeping a part-time residence near where he grew up.  Chris brings to Land Craft Wellness his 30 years of medical experience as a paramedic – he understands the unique stresses and strains of those who serve as emergency first responders, and wants to bring the benefits of plant-based wellness to that community.

And Meet the Creator and the Scientist

Kelley Taylor is a serial entrepreneur just like her husband, Rich.  They live together on their 50 acre farm where the hemp is grown for our CBD products.  With a background in chemical engineering from SUNY Environmental Science and Forestry School, Kelley pivoted mid-career and launched her successful natural skincare company, Misty Blue Farm Botanicals.  Kelley brings her years of clean and green skincare formulation to Land Craft Wellness’ line of topical skin care products.

Ben is our consulting chemist and growing consultant.  A native Vermonter, Ben was educated at the prestigious Long Trail School in Dorset, Vt and earned his undergraduate degree in biochemistry at Green Mountain State College in Poultney, Vt.   Ben is a passionate advocate for cannabis, having worked on ground-breaking cannabis research while attending Green Mountain State College and has an abiding respect for the deep cannabis culture in Vermont.  Ben’s goal is to harness the power of modern chemistry to make the highest-quality cannabis and CBD available to our Land Craft Wellness customers.
